India has always been a big market for mobile manufacturers and this is the reason why companies are setting up their manufacturing factories in India. Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad recently announced that India has now become the second-largest mobile manufacturer in the world. He has also informed that 300 mobile manufacturing units have been set up in India till now. This is a major achievement for India.
Giving information through a Twitter post, Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that ‘India has become the second-largest mobile manufacturer in the world in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Till now 330 million mobile handsets have been made in India. In 2014, 60 million smartphones were manufactured in the country and at that time there were only two mobile manufacturing plants in India. The value of mobile phones made in 2014 was $ 3 billion whereas in 2019 the value has increased to $ 30 billion.
Ravi Shankar Prasad’s tweet has also been shared by Xiaomi India CEO Manu Kumar Jain on his official Twitter account. It has also been informed that Xiaomi is going to make 99 percent phones in India, out of which 65 percent of parts are being sourced locally. Xiaomi started a manufacturing plant in India 5 years ago and was the first company to set up a plant in India.

Xiaomi Has Setup The Smartphone Manufacturing Plant In India
After Xiaomi, many smartphone companies started their manufacturing plants, being part of the Made in India project in India. At the same time, it also includes the world’s giant Apple. Apple has manufactured some iPhones in India and now the company plans to shift most of its business from China to India. At the same time, Samsung has set up the world’s largest mobile factory in Noida Shahrat, Uttar Pradesh.
